August 2024 Astrology Highlights

August 2024 is a quiet hectic month and we do expect some chaotic energy. With Mercury going retrograde and joining three outer planets' retrograde party, there are some introspection and integration that need to be done on a personal level due to some external changes we have been facing since Saturn, Neptune and Pluto went to retrograde months ago. There are also some big transits happening which add more dramatic flavour in the sky, not to mention Leo's energy is dramatic itself, so all the events that happening this month can be bold and loud. There are some battles we need to be more prepared for, which are Venus opposing Saturn, Mars Squaring Saturn and Jupiter squaring Saturn. We will discuss this in a more detailed way as below.

Sign Changing

6 August  Venus changes sign from Leo to Virgo.

Venus represents Money and love generally. She is also a benefic planet who brings harmony and blessings wherever she goes. Even though she is not particularly comfortable in Virgo, it won't affect her ability to bring goodies to the sign she touches. In general, I felt this sign changes would make us more focused on our mundane duties, healing and health. She is more willing to spend money and energy on things beneficial for her body and keep her environment clean. This energy brings good opportunities to clear up things in your life that are no longer worth your energy.

23 August Sun Changes sign from Leo to Virgo

Sun represents our vitality and our solar consciousness, it's kinda of the the energy shift from now the drama or the performance/presentation has been done in Leo season, let's make a practical plan and tune into details to make things happen. 30 August Venus changes sign from Virgo to Libra.

Venus has a very short stay in Virgo this month, which is fair enough as she just genuinely doesn't like to be there. Retrograde Planet: Saturn, Neptune, Mercury

• Saturn retrograde is from June 29 to Nov 15,

• Neptune retrograde is from July 2 to December 7

• Mercury retrograde is from August 6 to August 28

We are continuously in the vibration of Saturn and Neptune Retrograde in Pisces. Saturn is a very slow-moving planet, so its effect will be slow-burning and long-term. Neptune is an out planet, which means her effect will be more emphasised on a collective level instead of a personal level. But this month Mercury has joined the Retrograde party as well, which means that will affect us more on a personal level, in other words, we can feel its effect more immediately and strongly.

Mercury retrograde always brings the theme of reflection, reevaluation reassessment etc.

Mercury represents our thinking, communication, transportation, technology and so on. He retrogrades his home sign, which gives him vitality and the ability to reflect on his thinking process and communication skills. For me, I felt this was an energy to do course correction over some miscommunication we had before and change the way we think and there will be some fresh info we have ignored that can help you make a clear decision this month if you are willing to pause and reflect. Mercury retrograde is not a good time to make big decisions or it will turn out you need to do it back and force. So hold your horse this month to focus on the details of the matter you are dealing with and be more flexible with all your plans.

Mercury will return to Leo on August 16, which is a re-visiting of matters relating to your creativity. But do check which houses area each sign in your chart, as it will affect each of us differently depending on how this transit activates your natal chart.

Square Party in August :

I have to there are a lot of square aspects this month! Square in astrology means two planets in tension with each other, it's not like a full-blown battle like opposition brings but it brings challenges that require some effort to resolve the tension between the two planets.

15 & 16 August   Mars Conjuncts Jupiter in Gemini, then Squares Saturn

These aspects may affect us not only on the days but also a few days before and after. Mars conjuncts Jupiter's energies whatever Jupiter in Gemini in your chart Jupiter wants to expand. In general, this will make more information, news, communication, technology and transportation-related stuff more busy. Positive manifestation can be all the Gemini-related matter you feel a sense of purpose, full of vitality and drive to do so; On the negative side, it can bring conflicts, confrontation or even battles to Gemini-related matter. Jupiter unites with Mars by simply adding on the fuel depending on how you utilise the energy. Somehow I felt this transit would affect us more collectively. But of course, when the big worldly event happens it will somewhat change our personal life too. Not long after Mercury retro back to Leo, he will square Uranus in Taurus. This gives me a sense of revealing some sudden or shocking news about people in leadership roles that will change the whole game, and bring some chaos and wake-up shake-up call to many.

19 August Mercury Casimi, Venus opposite Saturn and Square Jupiter

This is a very interesting energy combo I have to say! First of all, Mercury Casimi means Mercury "in the centre of the Sun". This is a moment of truth revealed especially when mercury governs our mind and thinking. When Venus who represents our heart also joins Mercury, I felt it would be a moment when what your heart desired and what you thought you wanted finally clicked! That aha moment may lead you to challenge your thinking structures and how you communicate ( Jupiter in Gemini) and even against your old belief system (Saturn in Pisces), it can be very overwhelming to confront these two heavy-weighted planets but it will be worth it once Venus learn how to stand on her grand with love and compassion.

20 August  Jupiter Squares Saturn on the Full Moon in Accquriaus

Jupiter square Saturn will bring us some long-term changes in our life that require balance. This square happens right on the Full moon day in Accquriaus which add on extra potency to it. The full moon asks us to let go, and the conflict and tension between Jupiter and Saturn ask us to integrate our human mind or ego with our practical spirituality. Jupiter in Gemini wants us to expand our conscious mind through information and conversations, and Saturn in Pisces requires us to have a practical and consistent spiritual practice to connect our spiritual self with our human self. This integration can be a rather long journey, this is just a highlight so we can be more aware of it. It's time to let go of our wishful thinking and step into true spirituality with expanded awareness for the highest good of humanity.
